Services

After School Study Program

In order to give children the opportunity to have more quality time at home with their parents, EMI Blainville offers a teacher supervised study period after school hours, between 4:00PM and 5:00PM except Fridays, which is integrated into the daycare service from 4:00PM to 6:00PM.

*Please note that students who do not work in respectfully will be asked to leave the program. If so, they will continue to be supervised in the afterschool daycare program.

After School Daycare

Morning daycare from 7:30AM to 8:00AM;

After school daycare from 4:00PM to 6:00PM;

Combined daycare for parents that need both services – morning and after school daycare.

The school day starts at 8:15AM and ends according to the following schedule:

–        Kindergarten: 3:00PM

–        Cycle 1:   3:20PM

–        Cycle 2:  3:30PM

–        Cycle 3:  3:40PM

If parents cannot pick up their child on time, he/she will be automatically registered for daycare that day.

Extracurricular Activities

Our students are privileged to be offered a variety of extracurricular activities. While most take place during after school hours, some do occur during the lunch hour. Children may sign up for these activities in advance.

All students have the opportunity to sign up for the following classes: chess, tennis, futsal, hip hop, ballet, and mandarin. Piano and singing classes are also available. These are 30-minute, private classes. There are 30 classes given throughout the year, beginning the second week of September and ending at the end of May.

Hot Meal Program

Elementary students at EMI Blainville are given the option of bringing their own lunch or ordering from our hot lunch program.  For Daycare and Kindergarten students, the hot meal program is mandatory.  Healthy and balanced hot lunches are provided 5 days a week to all interested students. All lunches are nutritional and follow the guidelines of Canada’s Food Guide for healthy eating. They contain a balance of proteins, carbohydrates, and vegetables.

The meals are offered with the choice of juice, milk, or water. There is also a choice of yogurt, stewed apples or prepared fruit. For dessert, a cookie, muffin, or small cake is served. The menu is constantly adjusted and updated in order to make sure the children enjoy their meal and are satisfied. For further information concerning the menu, please do not hesitate to call our office. If your child is not registered for the hot meal service, it is possible to reserve meals with the secretary on Friday for the following week. You can contact us by email. Students who bring their own lunches are encouraged to provide ice packs in their lunch boxes to keep their lunches fresh.

* Please do not send chips, chocolate, candies or junk food (*1st, 2nd, 3rd ingredient is ‘sugar’) for lunch or snacks. Students are not permitted to consume unhealthy snacks, as we enforce an environment where they are conscious of their dietary needs. Please note that EMI Blainville does not provide microwaves in the cafeteria. You may send hot meals in a thermos.

Transport

Because of low rate of demand, we could not find a bus transportation company for our school. On your request, it could be possible to find a parent close to your house who could be willing to bring your child to school and back home in a car-pool system.
